Why the Title?

After being a teacher for 19 years I felt the need to do something different.  I know it's cliche to say I wanted to be a librarian because I love books and love to read but it's more than that.  My classroom library was huge (over 2000 books) and my biggest joy as a teacher was teaching reading and getting books into the hands of my students.  In 2005 I finished a Masters degree in Literacy thinking I would become a Reading Specialist or Literacy Coach but that was easier said than done.  When I started really thinking about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life I kept coming back to being a librarian.  I was fortunate to get a job as a school librarian with only 2 classes under my belt thanks to my years of teaching and my literacy degree,  I absolutely love my job.  I love interacting with kids and books and teaching the students have to be better users of information.  I truly feel like a kid in a candy store ... or as the title says a librarian in a candy store.
